本次官方所公布的新參戰 MS 機體與駕駛，都是出自宇宙世紀晚期的作品，分別為《機動戰士鋼彈 F91》的機體「鋼彈 F91」與駕駛「西布克‧阿諾（Seabook Arno）」，以及《機動戰士 V 鋼彈》的機體「V2 鋼彈」與駕駛「胡索‧艾溫（Uso Evin）」。
According to the official news the new MS that appear at Gundam Musou 2 are F91(Seabook Arno) and V2(Uso Evin).

在系統部分，本作加入了全新的「爆裂攻擊（Smash Attack）」，只要持續按住攻擊鈕一段時間蓄力再放開就可以施展出來，威力比一般攻擊來得大，在與大型 MA 戰鬥時能發揮優異的效果。另外在消耗 SP 技力表來施展的「特殊攻擊（Special Attack）」部分也加以翻新強化，在空中也可以施展，不論是演出效果或是攻擊威力都有著大幅的提升。
New system called "Smash Attack", just hold the attatck button a while then release will unlease an attatck power that is greater than normal attatck especially when battle some huge MS. And some MS special attatck will up grade the attatck and renew, it also can perform when on air.
